If you are behind in your water bills and it’s difficult for you to come up with the money you need, here are some resources to help you pay:

City of Wilmington: Utility Payment Assistance Fund

Wilmington’s Utility Payment Assistance Program is available to any income-eligible Wilmington resident who is at least 18 years old. Qualified residents can request up to $1,500 to pay their delinquent water/sewer bills.

Delaware State Housing Authority: Wilmington Senior Tax Assistance Program

The Wilmington Senior Tax Assistance Program is designed to assist homeowners in Wilmington who are 62 or older who are at risk of foreclosure due to delinquent property taxes, or sewer and water bills. The maximum grant amount available under this program is $3,000.
