Mayor Purzycki, in collaboration with Council Members Cabrera, Spadola and Oliver, announces legislation to reduce parking ticket fines from $40 to $25.

Fall 2022 / City Announces Parking Reforms and Task Force Approved

Mayor Purzycki, in collaboration with Council Members Cabrera, Spadola and Oliver, announces a broad set of parking ticket reforms.

The Fines and Fees Task Force is created October 2022.

Summer 2022 / Wilmington Joins Cities and Counties for Fines and Fee Justice

Wilmington is selected as one of six cities around the country to receive expert assistance in fine and fee reform and learn from peers how to make fair and fiscally responsible change. Wilmington is represented by the Fines and Fees Justice Team, lead by Council Member Darby.

Spring 2022 / Fines and Fees Task Force Proposed

Council Members Cabrera, Harlee, Congo and Darby co-sponsor legislation to create a Fines and Fees Task Force to review all of Wilmington's fees and fines and make adjustments to make the system more fair and equitable.
